SERVICES

Events, reports & conferences

We film events and cut what comes out of them: aftermovies, sizzles, conference recordings and live streams. Conference video production in Paris, by a crew shooting since 2016 that started in music festivals and tour management — and that now produces festivals of its own.

Aftermovies & sizzles

Aftermovie production for festivals, concerts and parties, and short sizzles for the announcement that follows. The crew shoots inside the event rather than from the edge of it, which is what makes a three-minute cut feel like the night. That habit comes from where we started — music tours — and it now serves the tech and open-source events in the reel below: IPFS 2023 and Davos Filecoin, dWeb Camp and Web3 Summit, GitButler, and the recap and residency films for Funding the Commons, from San Francisco to Buenos Aires. Every one of them was shot from inside the room and finished in-house.

Conferences & live streaming

Conference video production, end to end: multi-camera capture, speaker recordings cut and published talk by talk, and a live feed when the room is not the whole audience. The stream and the recordings come out of the same setup, run by the same crew — multi-camera live streaming included, not bolted on. The proof is public: for Paris P2P Édition #1 we filmed and published every talk of the programme, and the conference reel below carries SheFi Summit, Les Amis d’Ethereum, Crypto Legends, libp2p and Kiln. The base is Paris; the work goes where the event goes — Davos, San Francisco and Buenos Aires are all in this page’s films.

Events we run ourselves

We also produce events, not only film them. Paris P2P Festival is ours: the film crew built its identity, filmed each edition and cut the Édition #0 aftermovie — 5,000 people over 5 days at Ground Control, Paris, free to attend, with talk tracks from the Protocol Labs, IPFS, libp2p and Berty protocol teams. Hyper Hacktive Festival is ours too, and it runs on Zenao, the ticketing software the engineering studio builds: at the second official edition, at mk2 Quai de Seine, 10 films screened in a single evening for 400 people, every ticket issued and checked through Zenao. Producing festivals is how we learned what an organiser needs from a film crew — both stories are written up as case studies on this site.

What we deliver

The event ends; the films are what it keeps. The deliverables are these: an aftermovie or an event report, a sizzle sized for the next announcement, the talks published one by one, a live stream while it happens. Everything is shot and finished in-house by the Samouraï Coop film crew, the way we have worked since 2016. If you are weighing conference video production in Paris — or wherever the event takes you — start with the reel: the films are the reference, and this page only introduces them.
